A woman has become an internet sensation by sharing her strange experience with her Coach bag. In her TikTok, which has been watched more than 500,000 times, Sierra Nicole (@sierra_not_ciara) explains that when she went into a Ross store, the bag started making noise.
Why did it beep?
An employee stopped her and asked if the bag was new. When she said it had been given to her by a friend, the employee explained that all new luxury handbags have a security tag.
He told her that he had recently helped someone with a similar problem.
“I was so scared… but he helped me and now I don’t get beeped when I walk into a place,” says Nicole. “It had never happened to me before. I didn’t know he existed. I didn’t know he existed. Now I do.
Other people have had similar experiences.
The comments section was full of people who had had similar experiences with Coach and other Coach products.
One person wrote, “I have a Coach bag that does this. I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find it.” Another added: “My Kate Spade bag does this all the time. It’s really annoying. I can’t find the sensor anywhere.”
Another said his Coach bracelet does the same thing. It was so annoying it took me forever to figure out what it was.”
A fifth person said her mum’s Coach wallet did the same thing at Walmart. A sixth person said she had a Levi’s jacket that beeped every time she entered or exited a store. I stopped wearing it because it beeps so loudly and it’s annoying.
Other studies suggest this is a common problem.
