“You don’t know what you’re talking about”.

This man says he can prove that his headphones send out a lot of radiation. But that’s not all.

As technology becomes a bigger part of our lives, some people wonder whether new devices could have side effects we don’t yet know about.

It’s a bit like when we found out that lead paint and asbestos were harmful.

But experts say we now know enough about radiation to know what’s dangerous and what’s not.

Wireless or wired headphones? The radiation problem.

A man explains in a video on Instagram why he thinks you should choose wired headphones over wireless. (Via)

He says that wireless headphones send radiation straight to your brain.

His daughter was wearing Apple AirPods. He pointed a radiation detector (a Geiger counter, which can be purchased online for between $10 and $20) at his daughter’s ear and the number 22-24 appeared on the display. He said the number increased to the highest radiation level.

He said the number went up to 35. He added that this amount of radiation reached the woman’s ear area.

He added that this amount of radiation went “straight to her brain”.

When he moved away, the number dropped to almost 0.He then approached a disconnected wired headset. Again, she detected “virtually nothing”.

We don’t know if the figure would have been different if the device had been switched on. The experiment seems inconsistent.

The author says that the amount of radiation from wireless headphones is 140, 150, 160 times higher than from wired headphones.

He says that radiation can cause brain tumours and tells people to be careful of radiation near the brain.

“I’m not saying we should be overly concerned, but if there is a safer option, why not consider it?” he said.

He also recommended getting advice from a SeaFoam specialist.

AirPods do not emit dangerous levels of radiation.

There are two types of radiation: ionizing and non-ionizing.

Non-ionising radiation displaces atoms but does not remove electrons. It is less energetic, so it is less harmful. It can heat substances. It is the same type of radiation used in microwaves. (Via)

Ionizing radiation is very energetic and can remove electrons from atoms. Ionizing radiation is present in X-rays and radioactive waste. This type of radiation can damage tissue and DNA, and damaged cells can become cancerous.

Wireless headphones emit a different type of radiation that is not thought to cause cancer. But science needs to do more research to understand how they affect health, especially with mobile phones.

What do people think about AirPods?

One of the most read comments said: It said that the radiation is so low that you don’t have to worry.

One person said, “I’ll stop eating bananas because they contain radiation too.”

‘This is crazy! The radiation from Bluetooth headsets is very low and harmless,’ added another.
