“I never would have got it back”.

This Olive Garden customer had a nasty shock when she found out what was in her salad, which made her decide to stop going there.

Olive Garden, a popular Italian-American restaurant chain, quickly became a hit after opening and expanding in the 1980s and 1990s.Its reasonable prices made it the ideal place for families to celebrate birthdays, graduations and Christmas parties.

Breadsticks, salad, chicken parmigiana and fettuccine alfredo are all great, but what happens when your favourite Olive Garden dish has something you didn’t expect in it? Would you go back?

Ever wondered what might have been in this Olive Garden customer’s salad?

In a video that’s racked up over 430,000 views, customer ASR (@yellowindian) shares a less-than-ideal experience. He went out to eat with family to celebrate a birthday, but as he explains in the video and caption, it wasn’t all it was cracked up to be.

The first problem was that the place they were seated smelt like sewage, as the waiter confirmed.

We all know that eating in a smelly place can be unpleasant, but despite this, ASR and his family decided to make the most of the moment and enjoyed celebrating the event.

As the evening drew to a close, they began to gather up the leftovers and suddenly, in the large bowl of lettuce, something stirred and began to crawl. It was a centipede!ASR was naturally inclined to scream, as many people do when they see an insect, especially if they’re afraid of it.

Instead of quickly resolving the situation and offering compensation for the food, the manager reacted in a rather rude and unprofessional manner.

ASR shared his experience of the incident, “Imagine the foreman telling you not to SCENARIO and to shut up because we are hurting his ears.” ASR also said he was surprised by the situation because the vendors use the same suppliers. Usually the lettuce is pre-packaged and they just serve it, but that is no excuse,” ASR added in a comment.

Just a heads-up: this is more serious than it looks.

If you accidentally eat a live centipede, it can be very dangerous because they carry a parasite called rat lungworm. This parasite can develop completely in a rat, but not in a person. CNN reports that. (Via)

Heather Stockdale Walden, an assistant professor in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Pathology at the University of Florida, explains that when it gets into a human, it can get lost and stay in the brain. (Via)

The germ doesn’t live long outside the body, so most infections heal on their own, but sometimes it can cause more serious problems, such as meningitis (inflammation of the head and spinal cord) or even death.

But this only happens with raw milipedes.According to the New York Times, dried or pulverised centipedes are safe and are used a lot in traditional Chinese medicine. (Via)

Commenters are very grateful for your help.

“You are a darling for protecting my server despite everything. We need more people like you,” said one of the most-read comments.

“I’m afraid of centipedes, but I would have screamed myself to death,” said one person.

“I would NEVER have recovered,” wrote another.
