“I’m going to be sick.”
In a video that was watched more than 832,000 times, content creator Blaze (@blaze222_) shared the moment he discovered something was wrong with his Wendy’s chicken sandwich.

What a mess! Wendy’s really messed up.

As you can see in the video, the sandwich, which has already been bitten several times, is raw on the inside.

It looks like it was fried just enough to cook the outer layer with breadcrumbs, but the heat didn’t reach the rest of the meat. Look how much I ate… It’s raw.

‘Wow, they really said die tn!’ the caption reads.

Viewers were a bit surprised by this late warning.

“How could you not notice?”
“How could you not notice?”
“My toxic trait is that I look at my food with every bite,” said another.

Blaze talks about what happened in a video later on.

He says they’d just worked 12 hours and they were starving: “I was dead set on eating and going to bed. They ended up going to a really dodgy Wendy’s, but it was the only place open at 1 in the morning. (Via)

I ordered a chicken and fries sandwich and they told me to wait about five minutes.

He didn’t think this was a bad thing, as he must have prepared the sandwich on the spot, as service is slow at that time of night.

When they gave him the fries, they were very fresh, so Blaze figured his sandwich would be the same.

Blaze went home and smoked a joint on the way. When he got home, the sandwich was a little overcooked and he wanted to eat it,” Blaze explained.

When they started eating it, it looked fine, but after a couple of mouthfuls they realised something wasn’t quite right.

“You don’t look at the food after every bite,” Blaze explained.

But by the third mouthful, they realised something was wrong with the texture and took a closer look.

“Oh yeah, [the swearing] was cruel. I started freaking out. Of course I stopped eating,” Blaze says. They thought about going to hospital straight away, but they thought it would be a waste of time because they weren’t sick yet.

They called Wendy’s and they said they’d served raw chicken, but Blaze was told, without any empathy, that they could substitute chicken if they still had the receipt.’I don’t want a new sandwich, you literally poisoned me,’ Blaze said.

Blaze has food poisoning.

The next day they had chills and headaches and started vomiting everywhere. “I threw up about ten times in an hour,” they said. Sadly, but not surprisingly, Blaze ended up in the hospital with food poisoning, where they gave him anti-nausea medication and fluids. Blaze said she has already contacted an attorney to sue Wendy’s.

“I’m going to get my paycheque because I went through emotional distress that I shouldn’t have to go through,” Blaze said. “They’re going to have a big lawsuit,” he added.

So, what happens if you eat this raw chicken?

Well, eating food contaminated with raw chicken is known to cause salmonellosis.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, salmonella can cause diarrhoea, fever and stomach cramps. The good news is that most people recover within a few days and may only need antibiotics. However, if you are very ill, you may need to go to hospital. (Via)

So, can Wendy’s be sued?

Well, if you want to take a restaurant chain to court for serving you raw chicken, you’re going to have a tough time.

According to the legal website 360 Training, you can’t just sue them for serving you raw chicken; you’ve got to have suffered an actual injury, like being hospitalised or losing your job. In this case, your claim might cover medical expenses, loss of earnings, pain and suffering, and any other related expenses. (Via)
