President Donald Trump attempted to learn how to say “Make America Great Again” on Fox News today, drawing backlash from MAGA supporters who were already calling the network “a little too Spanish.”

News anchor Rachel Campos-Duffy, the wife of Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy, tried to teach the president how to translate his campaign phrase in an interview on the Spanish-language program Fox Noticias, which launched late last year.

Trump, however, did not do it correctly, forgetting the Spanish word for “make.”

“América grande otra vez!” Trump said.

MAGA supporters, however, were not too happy seeing Spanish on their favorite network, a recent issue they’ve been worked up about.

One Truth Social user, @grammy620, who identifies as “Ultra MAGA,” posted that “@FoxNews is getting a little too Spanish for me lately.”

“I will stick with @Newsmax,” @grammy620 said.

Others on the site had also been harping on the issue, encouraging a change of channels. @GiGiTripp called for Campos-Duffy even before her Trump interview, to “STOP pushing Spanish on Fox, learn the meaning of #ASSIMILATE and learn ENGLISH!”

One recently railed against Fox for running a commercial in Spanish.

“You do a commercial in Spanish after President Trump signed an Executive Order designating English the official language of the United States, shame on you,” they wrote.

In response to the interview, Truth Social users re-upped their complaints about the network’s Spanish-speaking host.

“English is our language Rachel, quit catering to them they can learn English,” @dmichaelart posted.

“F fox news. OUR PRESIDENT SPEAKS ENGLISH,” one wrote in a comment on the video.

The interview comes as the Trump administration has waged a campaign against illegal immigrants from predominately Spanish-speaking countries, working to deport massive numbers of people.

The Trump administration is currently facing legal challenges over its deportation of a Maryland man to El Salvador. Kilmar Abrego Garcia was sent to the Central American nation despite a 2019 court order protecting him from being removed

But while some new outrage floated up over Trump’s interview, Campos-Duffy has been a part of the network since 2021, when she permanently joined Fox & Friends Weekend. She started hosting the daily one-hour Spanish-language program in 2024.

In a statement on the launch, Campos-Duffy said, “I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to host Fox Noticias. As the fastest growing electorate, accounting for nearly 20% of the population, the Hispanic American community is thriving.”
