Can you believe it? Did you know Walmart doesn’t do tricks?

A Walmart customer was left in one piece when she got a Dove body wash with a key – unbelievable, right!

In a viral video with more than 305,000 views, TikToker Kassidy (@kass_idy_) shared the anti-theft measures put in place by the retailer. You can’t miss it!

The caption says “Walmart is on lockdown”, which is pretty funny!

Can you believe that Walmart keeps its stock locked away? It’s crazy!

There are loads of videos going around about how different stores are dealing with anti-theft.

For example, someone said they found cereal and sweets behind locked glass doors in a CVS. And others said there were barricades in the liquor section that had to be got through from customer service. This is the last straw!

Did you hear what happened in January? A Walmart customer found steaks wrapped in a chain bag in their store, and Kassidy found her Dove liquid soap in a similar sealed bag. She said, ‘Walmart doesn’t mess with you,’ pointing the item at the camera. Unbelievable!

Crazy! She was then told to take it to the cashier. Can you believe it?

Walmart has put in place a bunch of anti-theft measures to stop theft, and they’re not sitting back! They’ve even given their employees “CT devices” that can secretly keep an eye on what customers are scanning at the checkout. (Via)

Way to go, Walmart! These steps should cut down on “shrink,” which is basically when a company loses stuff because of theft, either by customers or employees.

This has been an issue since at least 2015, which is pretty shocking.

I’m excited to see what measures will be taken to reduce it! (Via)

So does Walmart!

The comments section of the video is a hotbed of opinion, with store anti-theft measures varying by location and customers discussing the issue.

One user writes, “Walmart doesn’t mess around. I scanned the bananas, put them in the bag, and immediately three people came up to tell me I needed to weigh them. I haven’t been back to a Walmart since. “Unbelievable!

Apparently blocking items can hurt retailers’ profits, which is interesting.

According to a 2023 Fast Company report, blocking items can make customers feel like unwanted criminals. (Via)

It could also lead to an increase in online shopping.

And that’s not all! According to Fast Company, which says it’s got data showing that 89% of Generation Z respondents say they’re more likely to stop shopping at stores that use anti-theft methods, item blocking is a hot topic. We’re excited to see what the future holds!
